पाकिस्तानी सेना ने कहा कि रविवार को पाकिस्तान में सीमा पार अफगान सीमा बलों द्वारा भारी गोलाबारी और तोपखाने की गोलाबारी में छह नागरिकों की मौत हो गई और अन्य 17 घायल हो गए।
पाकिस्तानी सैनिकों ने दक्षिण-पश्चिमी बलूचिस्तान प्रांत में चमन सीमा पार से जवाबी कार्रवाई की, सेना ने एक बयान में कहा, दूसरी तरफ किसी भी नुकसान का ब्योरा दिए बिना।
अफगान अधिकारी नूर अहमद, कंधार में, सीमा के अफगान प्रांत में, रायटर को बताया कि घटना आकस्मिक थी और दोनों पक्षों की बैठक के बाद स्थिति सामान्य हो गई थी।
उन्होंने अफगान की ओर से किसी के हताहत होने के बारे में कोई और जानकारी नहीं दी।
पाकिस्तान सेना के बयान ने इस घटना को “आक्रामकता के लिए अकारण” बताया और कहा कि पाकिस्तानी सैनिकों ने आनुपातिक रूप से जवाब दिया, दूसरी तरफ नागरिकों को निशाना बनाने से परहेज किया।
दोनों पक्षों के अधिकारियों ने कहा कि चमन में व्यापार और पारगमन के लिए इस्तेमाल होने वाली व्यस्त अफगान सीमा को फिर से खोलने से पहले कुछ घंटों के लिए बंद कर दिया गया था। इसी तरह की झड़पों के बाद पिछले महीने कई दिनों तक क्रॉसिंग को बंद रखा गया था। रॉयटर्स

Pakistan says Afghan forces kill six civilians in cross-border fire
Pakistani troops retaliated at the Chaman border crossing in southwestern Balochistan province, the army said in a statement, without giving details of any losses on the other side

Heavy gunfire and artillery shelling by Afghan border forces killed six civilians across the border in Pakistan on Sunday and wounded another 17, the Pakistan army said.
Pakistani troops retaliated at the Chaman border crossing in southwestern Balochistan province, the army said in a statement, without giving details of any losses on the other side.
Afghan official Noor Ahmad, in Kandahar, the province on the Afghan side of the border, told Reuters the incident was accidental and the situation had returned to normal after the two sides had a meeting.
He gave no further details on any casualties on Afghan side.
The Pakistan army statement described the incident as an “uncalled for aggression” and said Pakistani troops had responded proportionately, avoiding the targeting of civilians on the other side.
The busy Afghan border crossing at Chaman, used for trade and transit, was closed for some hours before reopening, officials on both sides said. The crossing was closed for several days last month after similar clashes. Reuters
